This is a big bowl for ramen soup, or other soups. Each bowl has different modifications to enhance its specialness. Some have little saucers for spices or a boiled egg. Others have a place for chopsticks. This one has two rows of cubes, with glaze dripping off them, which serve are pretty good handles actually.

The glaze, which is rich in magnesium oxide, reacted with the brown clay underneath to create a rich copper hue that shines in the light.
